LinkedIn is where professional relationships develop and business conversations happen — in direct messages, comment threads, and posts that carry real context about your network. When you connect LinkedIn to Hyper, it syncs your chat history, posts, and profile data into your shared AI memory layer. Agents can search past conversations by participant or topic, find relevant posts by keyword, and retrieve profile information — giving you relationship context exactly when you need it without switching tabs or scrolling endlessly.

Connect LinkedIn

LinkedIn uses a browser-hosted native authentication flow managed securely by the Hyper desktop app. You enter your LinkedIn credentials directly into the flow, and Hyper handles secure session management on your behalf.
1

Open Settings in the Hyper desktop app

Launch the Hyper desktop app and click Settings in the navigation, then select Connections.
2

Click Connect next to LinkedIn

Find LinkedIn in the list of available integrations and click Connect.
3

Enter your LinkedIn credentials

A browser-hosted authentication window opens within the Hyper app. Enter your LinkedIn email address and password. Hyper manages the session securely — your credentials are used only to establish the LinkedIn session and are not persisted in plaintext.
4

Wait for the initial sync to complete

Hyper begins fetching your chats, posts, and profile data. The sync is capped at a 90-day lookback window. Progress is visible in Settings → Connections.
LinkedIn does not offer a public OAuth API for this type of access. Hyper’s LinkedIn integration uses a native browser session approach. Use your personal LinkedIn credentials — do not use a shared or service account.

What Hyper Syncs

What’s syncedDetails
ChatsDirect message threads with connection names and conversation content
PostsLinkedIn posts from your feed or profile
Profile dataProfile information for contacts encountered in chats and posts
Lookback windowCapped at 90 days of history
Incremental updatesNew messages and posts are synced incrementally
DeduplicationContent-hash dedup prevents duplicate entries
Hyper reads your LinkedIn data only — it never posts, messages, likes, comments, or modifies anything on your LinkedIn account.
The 90-day lookback cap keeps the initial sync fast and focused on recent, actionable relationship context.

Search LinkedIn with AI Agents

Once your LinkedIn data is synced, your AI agents can search chats and posts or retrieve specific profiles and conversation threads. Example agent queries:
Find my LinkedIn messages with Sarah from Acme Corp
Search LinkedIn chats mentioning "partnership proposal"
Show me recent posts about AI infrastructure from my network
Find the conversation thread with the recruiter from TechCo
Read my chat history with john.doe@example.com
Search posts containing "Series B announcement"
Show me the LinkedIn profile for the person who messaged me about the consulting project
What agents can do:
ActionDescription
Search chatsFind message threads by participant name or conversation title
Search postsFind posts by keyword or phrase in the post text
Read chat threadRetrieve the full message history for a specific conversation
Read postFetch the full content of a specific post
Read profileRetrieve profile data for a specific LinkedIn contact
Hyper syncs LinkedIn data incrementally — new messages and posts are pulled in regularly, subject to LinkedIn’s rate constraints. If you notice a recent conversation isn’t appearing, wait a few minutes and try again as the sync catches up.

Reconnect LinkedIn

If the LinkedIn session expires or is invalidated, Hyper will show a Reconnect prompt in Settings → Connections.
1

Go to Settings → Connections

Open the Hyper desktop app and navigate to Settings → Connections.
2

Click Reconnect next to LinkedIn

Click the Reconnect button to open the LinkedIn authentication flow.
3

Re-enter your LinkedIn credentials

Complete the sign-in in the browser-hosted window. Hyper re-establishes the session and resumes incremental sync. Your previously indexed data is preserved.

Disconnect LinkedIn

To remove LinkedIn from Hyper, go to Settings → Connections, find LinkedIn, and click Disconnect. Hyper cleanly terminates your LinkedIn session and stops all future syncing. Previously indexed chat, post, and profile data will be removed from your memory layer.
Disconnecting LinkedIn removes all synced data from Hyper’s memory layer and terminates the LinkedIn session. If you reconnect later, Hyper will re-sync from the 90-day lookback window.
